چکیده
The aim was to study the genetic control of agronomic efficiency at low N availability in maize. Experiments were conducted seven environments a square lattice design with 49 hybrids, consisting 48 crosses and one commercial hybrid, evaluated without application top dressing. Grain yields (GYHN) (GYLN) nitrogen dressing assessed, these traits used calculate (AELN) harmonic mean relative performance (HMRP). According joint analysis variance diallel estimates general specific combining abilities, highly significant. Note that AELN controlled by non-additive effects hybrids H7, H3, H47 H10 lines IG3-2, IG3-1, IG4-5, IG4-1 IG4-6 show higher grain yield

Physiological and Genetic Mechanisms for Nitrogen-Use Efficiency in Maize
Due to the strong influence of nitrogen (N) on plant productivity, a vast amount of N fertilizers is used to maximize crop yield. Over-use of N fertilizers leads to severe pollution of the environment, especially the aquatic ecosystem, as well as reducing farmer's income. Growing of N-efficient cultivars is an important prerequisite for integrated nutrient management strategies in both lowand h...

Apart from factors such as crop rotation and type of N Maize (Zea mays L.) cultivars with improved N-use efficiency would be beneficial for low-input production systems. Our objective fertilizer and its application, crop cultivars with imwas to estimate quantitative genetic parameters to optimize breeding proved N-use efficiency have much ...
متن کاملTowards a better understanding of the genetic and physiological basis for nitrogen use efficiency in maize.
To enhance our understanding of the genetic basis of nitrogen use efficiency in maize (Zea mays), we have developed a quantitative genetic approach by associating metabolic functions and agronomic traits to DNA markers. In this study, leaves of vegetative recombinant inbred lines of maize, already assessed for their agronomic performance, were analyzed for physiological traits such as nitrate c...
